Lead Your Life

Leadership, Awareness, and Growth

About Me January 14, 2010

As the CEO of a 3rd generation family business and previously, as an org dev’t consultant for Andersen Consulting (now accenture), I have had the opportunity to witness many phenomenal leaders.  Personally, one of my core values is learning and growing.  Thus, I am perpetually working to expand my own leadership compentence by  learning, seeking, practicing, and visioning.

This blog is intended to share what I’m exploring for two purposes.  First, a friend once told me that nothing coalesces thought like writing it down.  More importantly, perhaps something I write will be of service to someone else in their own pursuit of excellence and growth.

A bit about me….  In addition to leading my company which today employs 120 employees & 20 subcontracting firms, I am also a certified professional coach (CPC), certified energy leadership practioner (ELI-MP), and certified yoga instructor. Personally, I love travel, yoga, golf, hiking, & all things adventurous.  I thrive on studying performance, wellness, & mind discipline, and applying the connection of the 3 to my life and to businesses.

We each have a unique purpose, and this exact moment is the only one under our control and thus, the perfect time to embrace it and demand excellence from ourselves. May we all choose well in every moment!

Laura, thank you for sharing your wisdom. I am on a quest to live in peace, be of service to others, and love unconditionally. As a working mom, I admire your dedication to self reflection and the balance you create between work and home- it isn’t always easy, but you make it seem like it is!

I knew when I met you that you and your family were amazing. This is just another example. I hope to see all of you again when you are at Walnut Cove. We have a lunchtime basketball group on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays that I would love to bring Jason to.

I would also love to show you around our beautiful school and city.
