Great Quote from Napoleon Hill July 6, 2010

I am a big fan of Napoleon Hill’s work, and I carry the following quote with me, reading it often. I thought I would share it broadly. It is from his work, Think and Grow Rich.

“All thoughts which have been emotionalized (given feeling) and mixed with faith, begin immediately to translate themselves into their physical equivalent or counterpart. It is a well known fact that one comes, finally, to believe whatever one repeats to oneself, whether the statement is true or false. Every man is what he is because of his dominating thoughts which he permits to occupy his mind. Thoughts which a man deliberately places in his own mind, and encourages with emotions, control his every movement, act, and deed!”

We have the power to choose our thoughts at any moment, and that choice alters our experience, reactions, feelings, actions, and our results. We have thoughts entering and exiting our brain all day at rapid fire pace. Imagine how much power you could harness if you simply consciously choose empowering, mobilizing, loving, and optimistic thoughts some of the time?

Napoleon Hill writes extensively about the power of the mind as a tool for creating our desired results, and provides examples of the “greats” who have employed this practice. This practice is available to all of us, and yet it requires belief, desire, and discipline. It is really a matter of what you are willing to invest in designing your life.

What investment are you willing to make today?
